Six Key Terms To Measure Facebook Ads

1. Clicks

Clicks are the total number of clicks on your Facebook ads. Clicks can be website click, page likes, or app install.

If you want to get on more clicks on your ads, you need to make sure your ads are creative to get people's attention and interest. Then, you need to have a strong call-to-action to ask them engage with your ads.

2. Click-Through-Rate (CTR)

Click-through-rate refers to the total number of clicks received divided by the total number of impression or the number of times an ad was shown on Facebook page.

The higher CTR, the better your ad performing because it means that more people who see your ads really click through.

In order to increase the CTR, you can create informative content such as educational "how to" content or video to motivate people to learn more. As a new parent, I always like to click the posts or ads about parenting.

3. Cost Per 1000 Impressions (CPM)

CPM refers to the average cost you paid for 1000 impressions of your ads. The purpose of CPM is to access the cost efficiency for your Facebook ads.

4. Cost Per Click (CPC)

Cost per click is the amount you are charged when someone interacts with your ads. As marketers, we aim for the lower CPC the better result we want.

In order to have a good control on your budget, you can schedule the ads running on Facebook. You can schedule the running date and time period to reach more target audience.

5. Frequency

Frequency refers to the average number of time your ad was shown to each person.

Advertisers often want to set a limit on frequency and to cap this as a certain rate to prevent people seeing the ads over and over again. Make sure run your ads on the right time.

6. Reach

Reach refers to the number of unique people who saw your ads.

As marketers, you want your ad to reach as more people as possible. It will get more opportunity to meet your marketing goals.

Overall, these six key terms will help you determine which ads are performing well and which ones need some change.
