Google Ads For Beginners: Four Free Tools For Getting Keyword Ideas Quickly

Keyword research is the first step for creating keyword lists. You can brainstorm some good ideas, but it is just too limited. The Google Ads course introduced four useful keyword search tools to get keyword ideas quickly.

Google Autocomplete

Google autocomplete is usually the first place to find keyword ideas because everyone is searching on Google.

I go to the Google search page and enter "birthday gift", then there are drop-down relevant keywords ideas.

I could see many good keyword ideas for a "birthday gift" like "birthday gifts for him", "birthday gifts for best friend", and etc. In the drop-down, it usually shows the top search terms on Google.

Google Suggestions

Another way to find some good keyword ideas is from Google suggestions. Just type your search term on Google and enter the search result page. Then scroll down to the bottom, you can see the "searches related to birthday gift" which is my search term.

Uber Suggest

Uber suggest is a free tool to get good keyword ideas. You could select the country to get top keyword ideas in a particular country. It is very useful, especially when you are running a global business. You want to know how the local users are searching for your products.

For example, I type "birthday gift" in the search bar, it will give me 471 suggested keyword ideas, search volumes and cost per click for each keyword. We want to find the longtail keyword suggestions for positive keywords.

Soolve.com

Soolve.com is a good place to find keyword ideas from all the top search engines. It shows the top most popular searches on all these different search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo and etc.

Overall, you can get a lot of positive and negative keyword ideas from those free keyword tools. At the keyword research stage, our main job is to learn about how people are talking about our products and how users are searching for our product differently.

Besides using these tools, we also need to study our website and competitors' websites to read the product description and features and find some keyword ideas. It is all about what customers care about.

Starbucks: Three Main Benefits For Writing Customer Name On The Cup

Whenever I order a small Starbucks coffee, I am always asked "What's your first name?" by a cashier. Even I was the only person to order, they still asked my name. Not only Starbucks, now many other bubble tea brands such as Vivi, Coco, Gong Tea also start calling customer's names. Why does Starbucks write customer name on the cup? What're the benefits to do that? Image from writingelves.com Self-Promotion In the beginning, Starbucks wrote customer names because they received too many orders. Marking down names would prevent mistakes. Later on, Starbucks found that writing names do not only improve work efficiency but also increase brand awareness.   Sometimes (most times) Starbucks spell the wrong name. In contrast, people feel Starbucks is not only a coffee shop but also a coffee shop with its own personality.  Image From Memeguy Some customers also make fun with Starbucks. They come up with...

Pantene "Power of Grey" Campaign: Every Color Is Shining

Many of my girlfriends started to change their hair color. A new hair color brings a new look which makes them feel different.  I never color my hair because I love my black hair. If one day I get white hair, I might change the color because I don't want to look old. See, white or grey hair means old. It is a very common thought in society. What if someone was born in grey hair?  Pantene found that 80% of Brits have grey hair, but 40% cover them because they feel less confident with grey hair.  So, Pantene launched "Power of Grey" Campaign to encourage people to embrace their unique trait: grey hair.  Yes, grey hair is different, but they are also beautiful the way they are.  The new Pantene hair care product is special for grey hair and will make them shiner. "Power of Grey" campaign turns the negative perception of grey hair to a positive view. As the Katharine Newby Grant commented: "We're committed to continui...
